UN involved in harming Yemeni people

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Yemeni President Mahdi Al-Mashat on Wednesday met with the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths in the presence of Speaker of the House of Representatives Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i and Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor.

At the beginning of the meeting, al-Mashat thanked the UN envoy for his condolences over the martyrdom of Sayyed Ibrahim Al-Houthi, pointing out that the martyr is one of the Yemeni people who are subjected to daily criminal operations by the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries.

Regarding the developments in the national arena, Al-Mashat pointed to the events taking place in the southern governorates.. He considered that the United Nations is involved in harming the Yemeni people by linking Yemen's economic affairs with the occupied Aden, especially with regard to the Central Bank and the import of food through the port of Aden, although this has become impossible in light of the occupation, the security chaos in Aden Governorate and the looting and storming of banks.

"Recent events in Aden and the southern governorates have proved that the logic of the militias is based on a regional basis, which confirms that the fate of the people should not be linked to these militias and that the interests of the Yemeni people should not be kept at the control of such militias," he said.

He called on the United Nations to find a quick solution to lift restrictions and procedures imposed on the import of goods through the port of Hodeidah.

With regard to the Sana'a airport, which has been under the blockade for more than three years, the President pointed out that the World Health Organization has made some suggestions regarding the humanitarian aspect, but did not amount to a complete solution to the airport issue, as it included a very small number of flights, however those who need to travel abroad and are prevented because of the siege are tens of thousands of patients.

During the meeting, President al-Mashat also discussed the humanitarian tragedy of the city of Duraimi, which has been under siege by the US-Saudi mercenries and is banned from medicine and food under the surprising silence of the United Nations, although the issue is purely humanitarian.
